Anthony Eid

Anthony Eid is an accomplished leader, advocate, and strategist with a multidisciplinary background spanning public policy, government affairs, public health, and medicine. A first-generation American of Chaldean and Lebanese descent raised in southeast Michigan, he is excited to join Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD) as its new Senior Director of Public Policy.

Prior to joining CDAD, Eid held public office serving as Chairman of the inaugural Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission, where he led the successful UN-gerrymandering of Michigan by creating fair and representative district maps, implementing transparent processes that engaged over 30,000 public participants. His leadership demonstrated his ability to bridge diverse perspectives, navigate complex political and constitutional challenges, and build equitable solutions.

In addition to his work in redistricting, Anthony has made significant contributions to academic literature. His research on innovative care for people experiencing homelessness, harm reduction, and organizational models has been published in esteemed academic journals. Eid attended Wayne State University where he received two bachelor’s degrees, followed by a master’s degree from the School of Medicine. During his studies, he was elected to serve as the WSU Student Body President and served in many leadership, research, community, and volunteer roles; and is a frequent guest speaker at universities across the country.

He has a particular interest in policy/public health issues that contribute to socio-economic determinates of health. He serves as a consultant with community organizations to address these issues, working closely with public and private stakeholders to drive meaningful change. He is a strong believer in the power of advocacy, and his background in science allows him to practice evidence-based decision making.

In his free time, you can find Anthony watching Detroit sports, at the gym, on his bike, making coffee, or gaming.
