Community Reinvestment

CDAD is a member of the Detroit Community Reinvestment Coalition

CDAD is a member of the Detroit Community Reinvestment Coalition. It is led by leaders of local nonprofit organizations in partnership with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. The Detroit Coalition was established to advocate for improvements in the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and rules; negotiate and monitor CRA commitments (community benefits agreements) from financial institutions doing business in the Detroit market; and to educate and engage Detroit stakeholders regarding the importance of CRA laws and regulations. Additionally, CDAD works with national and local coalitions and banks to develop better banking products and services for Detroit residents and to provide more funding, resources, and access to credit for neighborhood-based organizations and for Detroit’s low and moderate income communities.
