CDAD is a member of the Detroit City Council Equitable Development Task Force (EDTF).
The EDTF was established by Council through a resolution in March 2022. The Task Force consists of community stakeholders and leaders whose experience and expertise will go a long way in ensuring all Detroiters participate in, and benefit from, the City’s economic transformation. This Task Force will focus on identifying and implementing policies and programs that support healthy, vibrant neighborhoods where the benefits of local development are experienced in an equitable fashion. The Task Force aims to elevate community development and urban planning initiatives that revitalize disinvested communities by ensuring that all residents participate in local development.
CDAD has been involved in other efforts to promote equitable development in Detroit. We have educated and engaged our members and partners around other cities’ equitable development policies and programs and conducted research into promising practices.
